NAHL ROBERTSON CUP WEEK: AUSTIN BRUINS

For the first time since 2015, the Austin Bruins appear in the North American Hockey League’s Robertson Cup semifinals this week in Blaine (MN). The Bruins will face the Maryland Black Bears in a best of three series that begins Friday. The winner will advance to the league’s championship final on Tuesday May 23.

Before getting too deep into the Central Division’s regular season and playoff champions, I feel it’s only fair to disclose that I think of Bruins’ head coach Steve Howard as a friend. Over the years, Howard and I have developed a good working relationship that has resulted in a lot of amazing conversations.
