Has USA Hockey inspired the National Collegiate Athletic Association into keeping players from the Canadian Hockey League ineligible for NCAA competition?

College athletes can earn money from their name, image and likeness, NCAA rules. The NCAA has approved a policy to allow college athletes in all three divisions to get paid for the use of their name, image and likeness. Meanwhile, players from the Canadian Hockey League are mostly still ineligible and that simply no longer makes any sense.
