The reasoning for a trade request can vary from a lack of playing time, unhappiness with management over conditions, the team’s direction, etc.

Once it gets to a boiling point where a player wants out, tensions between the player and his advisor with the team’s management and ownership can rise exponentially during meetings and phone calls. I prefer to deal with coaches that the relationship is already well established, making trade requests easier to facilitate.
