There are ten different Junior “A” level leagues across Canada. Why? Because what may work in British Columbia may not work so well in Ontario. In BC, ice can be had at $50 an hour, or even less. Go ahead and price ice anywhere near Toronto.
Here in the United States, our national governing body of the game has decided to grant exclusivity to both the United States Hockey League (Tier I) and North American Hockey League (Tier II). As a result, rogue groups are forced to play outside the jurisdiction of USA Hockey.
