If I Were King: The USHL Would Stop Waterloo’s Abuse of Referee Comedy Routine

Mascots can be idiots too and it’s all fun and games until the lawyers get involved.

For the last few days, I’ve managed to irritate a number of hockey fans from Waterloo, while being ignored by the United States Hockey League, when I asked about a comedy routine performed by the Black Hawks mascot in Waterloo.

Tommy Hawk, the longtime mascot for the USHL team, occasionally does a routine where he beats up and abuses a doll dressed up as a referee. Apparently, even questioning the appropriateness of the routine crosses a line for a lot of Black Hawk fans.
